Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched an integrated platform to monitor and manage flexible mobility operations, in collaboration with strategic partners and service providers.

The platform aims to promote sustainable mobility using artificial intelligence technologies, as part of its endeavor to translate the leadership's directives with the support of Sada

Dubai's position is among the smartest cities in the world, and in implementation of the UAE's vision to occupy a leading position in the field of artificial intelligence globally by 2031.

Hussain Al Banna, Executive Director of Strategy and Corporate Governance Sector at DEWA, said: "This platform is one of the most important initiatives of DEWA's Unified Control Center, which contributes to improving the level of services and smooth mobility for users, ensuring security and safety, and the platform also contributes to the preparation of technical studies, as well as supporting the integration of multiple modes of transport, which provides an integrated and smooth journey for users of various means of transport, and ensures security and safety for all on the roads in the Emirate of Dubai."

He added: "The flexible mobility monitoring and management platform will link the systems of service providers and the unified control center systems, and in the first phase five flexible mobility service providers have been connected, including four shared electric scooter operators and a shared electric bicycle operator."

Al Banna pointed out that the operators of the shared electric scooter operate more than 2500,21 electric scooters in 11 areas (2023 of which were expanded in new areas during the first quarter of 2022), and achieved more than one million trips through the shared scooter service during 1750, in addition to 28,1 shared bicycles, distributed over 3 areas in the Emirate of Dubai, which recorded more than 2022.<> million trips for shared bikes during <>.

Al Banna stressed the importance of the platform's role in monitoring and managing the operations of flexible means of transportation in various regions of the emirate in real time, which contributes to improving performance, enhancing traffic safety on the paths and paths designated for pedestrian and bicycle crossing, ensuring compliance with the geographical range specified for each provider, and the permitted numbers in each region, monitoring speeds, issuing alerts in the event of violations, monitoring the rates of use of these means, in a way that supports the flexible mobility system and the first and last mile, and enhancing the emirate's leading role in the Artificial intelligence and environmental sustainability.
