The Ministry of Justice stated that it has made many of its judicial services available electronically, stressing that customers can easily apply for them, whether through its website and smart application, and complete them with a "push of a button" from anywhere, which contributes to saving time, effort and money, accelerating the pace of litigation, shortening many procedures, and achieving quick and prompt justice.

Years ago, the Ministry began transforming its services to electronic and smart, most notably registering cases before the federal courts of first instance and appeal, attending remote sessions, as well as submitting requests for lawsuits, registering disputes before alternative systems of litigation, registering an order on a petition, requesting to open a petition, requesting a photocopying of the case file, requesting a financial guarantee, and others.

The Ministry of Justice stated that the electronic lawsuit filing system, or smart justice system, is an integrated process that begins with filing a lawsuit or dispute electronically, until judgments are issued, and also includes the ability to verify the validity of the lawsuit filing process to ensure the accuracy and validity of the data and verify the documents sent, and may also include sending and issuing notices and receipts to the parties when paying the lawsuit registration fees.

The Case Management System (CMS) helps the public create cases electronically, reduces delays in cases before civil courts, and improves efficiency by making information accessible to all parties.

Regarding the procedures for registering the lawsuit electronically, the Ministry clarified that what is required is to register a new account on the site for the lawsuit filing system, upload the required papers, pay the required fees, and follow up the request to register the lawsuit through the alerts contained in the personal account, and through e-mail, and text messages, and through the documents page in the electronic lawsuit file in the account, it is also possible to print the announcement issued in the lawsuit, and download the lawsuit sheet.

Customers can now access the system and submit applications at any time, even if it is on official holidays, without attending the court themselves.

Statistics from the Ministry of Justice showed that the percentage of virtual meetings and sessions held (remotely) before the federal courts reached 92%, and the average age of the case in civil, commercial and personal status cases before the federal courts of appeal and first instance was 58.9 days.

The use of judicial systems in the federal courts reached 98%, represented in the smart justice system, the electronic documentation system and the electronic marriage system.

The Ministry pointed out that the courts proved during the past year efficiency, excellence and flexibility in completing transactions, and the rate of adjudication of civil, commercial and personal status cases pending before the federal courts of appeal and first instance reached 92.6%, and the rate of adjudication of criminal cases pending before the federal courts of appeal and first instance was 99%.

The Ministry had previously launched the "Virtual Digital Advocacy" initiative, which allows the parties to the lawsuit to express their statements and requests in a digital way, within the framework of achieving the objectives of the UAE Strategy for Government Services.

Time flexibility

The "virtual digital pleading" aims to enable the plaintiff to access the system, record his statements and requests in the case, and allow the defendant at the same time to respond to these requests, under the supervision of the competent judge or the case manager, while achieving flexibility in time, in a way that enables the parties to exchange requests and respond to them throughout the day specified for the session.
