The results of school inspection for the current academic year, issued by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in Dubai, revealed yesterday that 74% of Dubai's private schools provide quality of life services and activities at a "high" or "very high" level.

The Authority stated that parents of all students of private schools in Dubai can benefit from summary reports, specially designed for them to monitor the reality of the quality of education in their children's schools, where each of them receives a simplified explanation of the evaluations of aspects of the school's work and the significance of each evaluation, allowing him to see accurately the most prominent aspects of the performance of his children's school, the level of quality of services provided to them, the strengths of the school, and the aspects that need to be developed.

Dr. Abdullah Al Karam, Director General of the Authority, said: "We were keen to provide summary reports to provide an important qualitative addition to every parent of a student in Dubai, as it provides accurate and simplified information about the most important aspects of the educational process in his children's school, which qualifies it to be a reliable reference that the student's guardian can refer to when choosing a suitable school for his children."

"This year, we have focused on assessing quality of life services and activities, and nearly three-quarters of these schools achieving a 'high' or better level indicates the importance that our schools place on providing education that supports the quality of life of our students and enables them to achieve a prosperous future."

Al Karam affirmed the Authority's aspirations to enhance the role of parents in supporting the quality of school life, within the framework of strong partnership relations between the student's parent and the school.

The current academic year witnessed the identification of key aspects of quality of life assessment in private schools, including leading and following up efforts to achieve and enhance wellbeing, constructive interaction with stakeholders, providing the necessary support to them, and processes to enable wellbeing and its outcomes, and these aspects and the quality elements within them aim to guide the development and consolidation of the quality of life in each school.

For her part, Fatima Ibrahim Belrahif, Executive Director of the School Inspection Bureau at the Authority, praised the efforts made by school leaders to enhance the quality of life of students, especially that the results of school inspection have shown the success of school leaders in more than three quarters of our schools in preparing a clear vision for the quality of life, and circulating it to the school community, so that it is a key pillar for formulating policies, practices and services provided by the school.

She pointed out that school leaders need to focus more on collecting and analyzing available data, in order to benefit from it in designing and implementing services that have an influential role in enhancing the quality of life of the school community.

She pointed out that the results of the school inspection revealed a correlation between the quality of life and student outcomes, including levels of school participation, and positive learning experiences among students.

With regard to the schools' efforts to achieve constructive interaction with stakeholders within the quality of life of students, the results of the school inspection showed that more than 80% of private schools in Dubai have achieved a level of quality of 'high' or better in the assessment element related to student welfare, as these schools sought to monitor the challenges affecting the quality of life of their students, and to assign specific members of the expertise in these schools to provide care, guidance and support to students.

According to the results of school inspections this academic year, more than 80% of private schools have achieved quality within a "high" level or better in enhancing students' quality of life experiences through their keenness to enable these schools to express their sense of safety, appreciation and belonging to the school community, and to ensure that they enhance their awareness of aspects related to their quality of life during their school day, and encourage them to apply it in their behaviors, attitudes and interaction.

The results showed the importance of private schools focusing on enhancing the quality of life in the curriculum by preparing programs dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of students and developing their social skills.

On the third of April, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in Dubai announced the results of the overall performance quality of all 199 private schools in Dubai, where the results showed that about 77% of Dubai students receive education within the category of "good" or better this academic year, compared to 70% during the academic year 2018-2019, and 25 schools achieved an improvement in performance compared to the last full inspection cycle, and more than 39,795 students improved the performance of these schools.
