The British navy has launched an investigation after official documents were allegedly found in a pub bathroom in north-west England about one of its flagship nuclear-powered submarines. The documents would contain details about HMS "Anson", a £1.3 billion, almost 1.5 billion euro submarine. The vessel was built in a shipyard in the town of Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, very close to the pub where the files were found. It also seems that when the files were found on the floor of a bathroom, the room was full.

The navy said the documents would not contain confidential information, a Royal Navy spokesman said: "These are generic training documents that do not contain classified information. However, we take all safety issues very seriously and will investigate the circumstances of their discovery."

HMS Anson is 97 metres long and is the fifth in a new class of attack submarines to join the British naval fleet. According to the British Ministry of Defence, this type of vessel is "the largest, most advanced and 'most powerful' attack submarine ever used by the navy". It seems that the Anson is able to circumnavigate the globe without re-emerging, producing the necessary oxygen and drinking water on board. producing its own oxygen and drinking water, both necessary and vital elements for the operation and survival of the crew.
