A 26-year-old man was checked at the wheel of his Mercedes at the speed of 266 km / h by the gendarmes, on April 13 on the A4 motorway at Couilly-Pont-aux-Dames (Seine-et-Marne). A speed finally reduced to 252 km / h but which remains a record for the military on this road, reports Le Parisien.

However, the motorist had been checked for the first time the same morning at the toll of Coutevroult. A routine, random check carried out by the men of the motorway platoon. A few hours later, the young man was pinned in the direction Paris-province, speeding.

He fled on foot

Intercepted at the same toll gate, the driver first lied about his identity. And for good reason: his driver's license had been suspended. He then fled on foot, through fields. The rental vehicle was seized and impounded.

The young man finally surrendered to the authorities on Tuesday and was tried in the wake by the criminal court of Meaux, as part of the guilty plea. He was fined €400, paid €200 pound fees and performed 105 hours of community service (TIG).
