The Friends of Cancer Patients Association supported a successful surgery to remove a pancreatic tumor for Osman Sudani, who has been working as a security guard for years, after undergoing several doses of chemotherapy, after being diagnosed with a pancreatic tumor, where severe complications made him unable to fully afford the cost of treatment.

The doctors decided to undergo complex surgeries, one of which necessitated changing the course of the stomach, after medical examinations that forced him to move between different hospitals, and undergo tests in multiple medical specialties, but those in charge of the association did not hesitate to provide him with material and moral support, especially since he is the only breadwinner for his family and two children, who could not provide the psychological support he needs as a patient, for their living conditions away from him in Sudan.

Othman said: "I have suffered for a long time from itching in the body, and various problems in the digestive system since 2021, and after six chemical doses, doctors began preparing for surgery to remove the tumor, but the surgeon

It was discovered that the tumor was attached to the veins, which led him to cancel the operation, and the need for another surgeon specialized in veins and arteries", which required a double cost that the insurance company could not fully cover.

Othman decided to seek help from the competent humanitarian associations, based on the advice of doctors, and communicated with more than one association, and the "Friends of Cancer Patients" were the fastest to respond, and to fill the financial deficit that health insurance could not fully cover, and as a result of this response, (Othman) was able to invite his wife and two children to visit him during his treatment, and stay with him in a family atmosphere that provided him with high moral support to overcome his condition.

Doctors succeeded in removing the tumor, despite the difficulty of the long operation, which took more than 12 hours continuously.

Othman continued: «I now feel much better in my condition, and despite the pain I suffer from from time to time, but the doctors supervising my case reassured me that this is normal and expected, but thank God I am able to continue my work, even on the days when I go to receive chemical doses, and without the support I received from the association, in addition to my colleagues at work, family and friends, I would not have been able to overcome this difficult stage».
