Let's take a closer look at the
charter scam news. The government and the ruling party, which is preparing a special law to help victims, are considering reducing taxes, such as acquisition tax, when victims buy their current homes. Democrats have taken the position that the state should first fund unreturned charter deposits, which could prolong the debate on the bill.

First, I'm a reporter for Park Chan-beom.

Apart from the special law that gives priority to victims for houses that have been
auctioned off, and LH buys damaged houses and rents them to victims, the outline of tax support for affected tenants under consideration by the government and the ruling party has been revealed.

When victims buy their current homes, they are exempted from 1% to 3% of the acquisition tax, which is 50~100% based on the purchase price.

The People's Power will submit a bill this week in the form of parliamentary legislation instead of a government initiative that must go through legislative review in order to enact a special law as quickly as possible.

[Yoon Jae-ok/People's Power Senate Leader: I understand that the opposition is also preparing countermeasures, so please take a responsible approach to the consultation in consideration of the required financial resources, equity, and feasibility.]

The MDP sympathizes with the need to enact a special law, but its position is that it is not enough for the government and the ruling party.

In particular, through the "advance support, post-initiative right" method, the government emphasizes how to compensate the charter deposit first.

[Lee Jae-myung/Representative of the Democratic Party: I think that the "super rich tax cut" of more than 6 trillion won a year is too stingy with the budget related to compensation for such damages, which can only be said to be a very small amount.]

The government drew a line within the opposition.

[Won Hee-ryong/Minister of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport: In the future, if this eventually becomes a fraud, we cannot set such a precedent for the Republic of Korea that the country will eventually take over.]

The plenary session of the National Assembly is scheduled for the 27th, but considering the time it takes to prepare the bill and coordinate the opposition, many observers believe that the bill will be passed only at the beginning of next month.
