A new employee of the luxury brand "Gucci" store was fired for boasting about Gucci products worth tens of millions of won on social media, saying that he "received it for free."

According to local media outlet Inderno on Feb. 21, Melanie, an employee at a Gucci store in Los Angeles, California, posted a video on TikTok earlier this month introducing her job gift.

In the video, Melanie appeared with two shopping bags, saying, "'Unboxing' all the products that Gucci gave me for free on my first day at the company," and introduced Gucci products worth hundreds of thousands to millions of won.

In the 59-second video, Melanie received a bag from Gucci, one belt each, three blouses, two pairs of pants, two jackets, four pairs of socks and two pairs of shoes.

The video, which showed a Gucci store employee receiving tens of millions of won worth of free products, quickly spread on social media, and even Gucci headquarters officials were informed that Melanie was fired.

Earlier, it was reported that the product provided to Melanie by Gucci was a kind of uniform paid for the promotion of merchandise.

Seeing this, users reacted cheerfully to his dismissal, saying, "I worked a day and got tens of millions of Gucci products for free," to which Melanie made an additional video in which she "took back the products that Gucci gave me the day after my dismissal."

"I wasn't angry at Gucci's decision to fire me," he said, adding, "Actually, I didn't want to do this. Gucci handed out instructions on social media, but they didn't read them."

"I also agreed to quit Gucci," he said, adding, "I will build my empire (like the Italian luxury brand Gucci)."
