About 90 sitting members of Japan's National Assembly paid a joint visit to the Yasukuni Shrine this morning, Japan's Kyodo News Agency reported.

They are members of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party and the right-leaning opposition Japan Restoration Association.

Japanese Prime Minister Kishida also paid tribute to the Yasukuni Shrine in the name of "Prime Minister of the Cabinet."

Yasukuni Shrine is home to Class A war criminals of the Pacific War.

Our government immediately expressed deep disappointment and regret.

In a spokesman's comment, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, "Japan's responsible leaders have once again paid tribute or repeated their worship at the Yasukuni Shrine, which glorifies Japan's past wars of aggression and intervenes war criminals," adding, "We urge responsible Japanese officials to face history and show humble reflection and genuine reflection on the past through action."

The government also expressed regret when Japanese Prime Minister Kishida paid tribute to the Yasukuni Shrine in October last year, and some cabinet members paid their respects.
