The 42.195 km of the 46th edition of the Paris Marathon was not cold in the eyes of Barbara who, like thousands of other participants, amateurs or professionals, has just participated. But if she has already run this mythical Parisian crossing 14 times, Barbara is now, at 83 years old, the oldest woman!

Fervent supporters to cheer the octogenarian

At the start of the event, the goal of the old lady, who runs "all the time, between 45 and 50 kilometers a week, four to five times a week", is to complete the race in less than 6 hours 30. Bet fulfilled: acclaimed by the public, the octogenarian finishes with a time of 6:21!

"I'm happy," she says after catching her breath. Proud, that's saying a lot, I would be proud if I had done a better time. But I'm not disappointed because I couldn't do better." Undeterred, Barbara will run for the 47th Paris Marathon and the Dublin Marathon in Ireland at the end of the year.
