5.18 Spirit Constitution Transcription Supreme Council Member Kim Jae-won, who twice apologized for his opposition to the Constitution and for his right-wing reunification remarks.

In an interview, he defended President Yoon Seok-yeol, who did not attend the Jeju 4.3 memorial ceremony.

[Kim Jae-won/Supreme Committee Member of the People's Power (KBS Radio's "Choe Business Administration's Strongest Current Affairs"): (The President) usually attends Section 3.1 and Independence Day. 4.3 Anniversaries are slightly less formal anniversaries or commemorations....]

He explained that he was quoting media reports explaining the difference between national holidays and anniversaries under the law, but criticism from within the party immediately poured in, such as, "Is there a class in commemoration?"

Daegu Mayor Hong Jun-pyo said that the West Sea Protection Day, which the president attended, is also not a national holiday, and that anyone who opens their mouth should be suspended from appearing on the show.

Supreme Council Member Cho Su-jin also publicly criticized Supreme Council Member Kim, fearing that he would leave the center.

[Cho Su-jin/Supreme Committee Member of the People's Power (SBS's "Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show"): He is a member of the Supreme Committee who works with him, but he has a lot of resentment. To put it simply, he is a recidivist, Jae-beom.]

He said that we should have taken strong measures early on, and that we needed the pulpit of Representative Kim Ki-hyun.

Lawmakers Kim Hak-yong and Yoon Jae-ok, who have announced their candidacy for Senate leader, also said they would avoid far-right statements and develop empathy within the party.

Although Supreme Council Member Kim said on social media that he would suspend public activities for the time being, it seems inevitable that Supreme Committee Chairman Kim Ki-hyun will be held accountable for words and deeds that go against the sentiments of the people and will set the party's discipline straight.
