Assad and Tebboune discuss political developments in the Arab arena by phone

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad discussed with his Algerian counterpart Abdelmadjid Tebboune by phone the political developments in the Arab arena, especially in the light of the visits made by a number of Arab officials to Syria, the visits made by President al-Assad in the Arab world to the Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates, and the files raised in all these meetings and their impact on Arab-Arab bilateral relations.

During the phone call on Monday, Assad thanked Tebboune for the assistance provided by Algeria and its people to Syria to cope with the plight of the earthquake, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

Al-Assad stressed that this aid carried with it a state of great solidarity and sympathy with the Syrian people, and reflected the deep ties between the two brotherly countries and peoples.

Assad stressed that Algeria, which currently chairs the Arab summit, has historically had positions on various issues very close to Syria's, and this reflects the common vision between the two countries for many decades.

For his part, Tebboune stressed Algeria's continued support for Syria, its constant keenness to strengthen bilateral relations in various fields, and his country's readiness to develop economic cooperation for the benefit of both countries.
