Sultan Al Jaber meets British King and Chancellor of Germany

The Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and President-designate of COP28, Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al-Jaber, is currently visiting the German capital to participate in the Berlin Dialogue Conference on Energy Transition, where he will meet with a number of ministers and officials concerned with climate action from around the world, and will participate in an event on energy transition and sustainability with King Charles III of the United Kingdom and President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier, and Al-Jaber will also hold bilateral meetings with German Chancellor Olaf Schulz.

He will deliver a keynote speech in which he will renew his call on governments, the private sector and civil society to intensify cooperation and work together to achieve a rapid and ambitious achievement in reducing global emissions, and to make progress in the energy transition.

The Berlin Dialogue on Energy Transition, co-organized by the German Renewable Energy Association, the German Solar Association and the German Energy Agency, is being hosted by the German government.

The conference, which kicked off yesterday in Berlin, will be attended by ministers and high-level delegations from more than 60 countries, as well as a number of senior government officials, scientists and leaders of international organizations, NGOs and business, with a total number of attendees expected to be more than 2000,130 participants, from about <> countries.

Al Jaber will hold a series of bilateral meetings with a number of ministers, senior officials, and civil society representatives, and will participate in an event on energy transition and sustainability with King Charles III and President Steinmeier.

Al Jaber is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Vice Chancellor Dr. Robert Habeck, German Minister of Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, German Special Envoy for Climate Action Jennifer Morgan, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Siemens Global Energy Company Joe Kaiser, and Chief Technology Officer of Airbus Dr. Sabine Klauke.

The visit to Berlin is the latest in Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber's global listening and networking tour in his capacity as President-designate of COP28, which aims to meet and hear the views of governments, civil society, youth, the private sector, and representatives of international organizations and NGOs.

To date, he has conducted a series of visits to India, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Denmark and the United States, and will also conduct a series of visits to more developed and developing countries.
