The first time in 6 years and the second time in more than a quarter of a century

Arab and Islamic countries unite under one crescent

The Director of the International Astronomy Center in the UAE, Mohammed Shawkat, explained that for the first time in 6 years, the Arab countries united under one crescent for the holy month of Madan, as they agreed on the first month of Ramadan 2023 on the same day.

Shawkat wrote in a tweet on "Twitter": "As an observer of the sighting of the crescent and the beginnings of the Hijri months, for the first time in 6 years and the second in more than a quarter of a century, Arab countries begin their fast in one day."

As an observer of the sighting of the crescent and the beginning of the Hijri months, for the first time in 6 years and the second in more than a quarter of a century, Arab countries begin their fast in one day, and all Islamic countries begin their fast in one day except Bangladesh for logical reasons.#Ramadan_2023 pic.twitter.com/ZmxvHKHqiK

At the level of Muslim countries, Shawkat continued, "All Muslim countries start fasting in one day except Bangladesh for logical reasons."

The International Astronomy Center had explained in a previous tweet that "the conditions of the crescent helped the unity of the nation, as visibility was impossible on Tuesday evening, and therefore no certificate of sighting the crescent was documented on that day. The visibility on Wednesday evening was possible in most parts of the Muslim world, so the crescent was seen in most of them."
