Analysts say the weapon, unveiled by North Korea, may have mimicked a Russian-made intercontinental torpedo.

The idea is to detonate a nuclear warhead near an opponent's naval base to strike the entire fleet, which reporter Kim Ah Young will explain.

It is the nuclear-powered intercontinental torpedo "Poseidon" that
Russia has been mass-producing since last year.

It is a new weapon that can detonate nuclear warheads up to 1,24 km underwater East Sea can cause a radioactive tidal wave when exploded, disabling an opposing nation's fleet.

Underwater torpedoes are considered harder to detect than missiles that cross the air during maneuvers, and once fired, they have no proper defense.

The nuclear unmanned underwater attack craft unveiled by North Korea today (4th) is estimated to be about one-fourth to one-third of Poseidon, about 1~3 meters long.

[KCNA TV: These nuclear-unmanned underwater attack craft can be deployed to any coast, port or surface vessel by qualifying.]

North Korea's nuclear unmanned underwater attack craft is not a nuclear-powered method, but the analysis is that the attack method is the same as that of Poseidon, which explodes and causes a tidal wave after approaching an entered strike target.

In particular, the warhead appears to be around 1 mm in diameter, similar to Kim Jong-un's upper body, which is enough to mount a small tactical nuke.

[Chun-Keun Lee/Honorary Research Fellow, Science and Technology Policy Research Institute: It is difficult to judge the damage because it has not yet been verified. However, a nuclear explosion near the port can be considered quite threatening because it can blow up the port itself.]

However, it is estimated that no submarine has been secured to operate an underwater attack craft larger than the existing torpedo, so it is estimated that there is a limitation that it must be launched from ships or from the coast.
