"The Court, its elected officials and its staff shall enjoy the strong support of the Assembly of States Parties to the Rome Statute. We reaffirm our full confidence in the Court as an independent and impartial judicial institution," the Assembly said in a statement issued by the ICC press office.

On March 21, State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin proposed to prosecute judges of the International Criminal Court for issuing an "arrest warrant" for Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to the Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzia, Russia considers any documents of the ICC null and void and illegal.

As Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov emphasized, the prosecutor, who now heads the ICC, fulfills the orders of his masters, who at the same time prohibit this body from investigating the crimes of NATO member countries.
