According to Statistics Sweden, food prices have increased by 20 percent and the price of electricity has doubled in 2022. This is something that is noticeable in the wallet of both restaurateurs and private individuals. David Jonsson, restaurant owner in Jönköping, has increased the lunch price by SEK 5 and several other restaurants in Jönköping have made significantly higher price increases.

For many, this means fewer restaurant visits and greater planning for grocery shopping. Many people make big boils for the work week instead of eating lunch out.

"We have a lot of people in the house from time to time and then you have to think about it. I cook more portions so that you have during the week," says Ingalill Gustavsson, pensioner.

Other ways to keep costs down can be to shop at extra price by checking the stores' flyers, cooking from scratch and making big boils.
