Monday will be marked by a new day of action against the pension reform throughout France, including Lille. Between 49.3 and motion of censure, tension is at its highest between the government and opponents of the postponement of the retirement age. A renewed motivation in the movement which, in Lille, is reflected in particular by major disruptions to be expected in public transport.

The delegate of the public transport service of the European Metropolis of Lille (MEL), Ilévia, confirmed its pessimistic forecasts for traffic on Monday. The only good news is that school buses and suburban lines "should" run normally. On the other hand, for other bus lines, "strong disruptions are to be expected," says Ilévia without being able to give more details.

Even the metro is not spared

As for the two tram lines, to Roubaix and Tourcoing, do not count on it. The carrier claims that "no trams will run on the network".

It will be no less risky to fall back on the subway. While usually it is only slightly impacted by social movements, the situation has changed for Monday. Line 1 will only come into operation from 10 a.m. and at the rate of one train every 2min30. Line 2 will remain stationary all day.

For its part, the SNCF recognizes that TER traffic will remain disrupted during the day of Monday following the social movement of this Sunday. While the extent of the disruption has not been specified, the rail carrier nevertheless encourages users to check that their train has not been cancelled before going to the station.
