In the municipality of Nauheim in the district of Groß-Gerau, the independent candidate Roland Kappes becomes the new mayor. In the run-off, he prevailed with 62.9 percent against Rosalia Radosti (SPD). She received 37.1 percent of the vote. Voter turnout was 50.1 percent. The mayoral election had attracted attention because of an unexpected stalemate: In the first round, Radosti and her competitor Max Hochstätter (CDU) had received exactly the same number of votes. Which of them made it to the run-off was decided by lot.

The new mayor of Groß-Zimmern is Mark Pullmann (CDU). In Sunday's election, he immediately achieved an absolute majority of 63 percent. With a voter turnout of 48.4 percent, Paul Schild (SPD) was in second place with 32.1 percent, the independent candidate Erhan Ücoklar came to 4.9 percent. The previous mayor of Groß-Zimmern, Achim Grimm (CDU), had not run after 18 years.
