Former President Donald Trump has raised speculation that prosecutors are imminent, claiming that US President Joe Biden is behind the prosecutor's investigation.

Democrats are worried that violence like the Jan. 1 Capitol riot could be repeated.

Republicans appear to be rallying around former President Trump in the wake of the arrest theory.

"Biden wants the Manhattan District Attorney to pretend he has nothing to do with attacking democracy," Trump said on his social media, "filling it with unfair Justice Department people."

He then referred to Manhattan Attorney General Alvin Bragg, who is black, and said, "Bragg is a reverse racist who takes direct orders from DC."

Earlier, Trump urged his supporters to act, announcing his impending arrest in connection with allegations of "silence of sex scandals" being investigated by the Manhattan District Attorney's Office.

As former President Trump criticized the political investigation and even mentioned the possibility of his arrest, public opinion within the Republican Party appears to be growing in support of him.

New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu, who has criticized former President Trump's moves as a potential presidential contender, said in an appearance on CNN earlier in the day that "sympathy for former President Trump is being created."

Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who appealed for Republicans in last year's midterm elections, also took to social media to say in reference to news that Trump could be arrested and handcuffed, saying, "If this happens, Trump will be overwhelmingly re-elected."
