Trump expects arrest on Tuesday, calls on supporters to demonstrate

Former U.S. President Donald Trump said in a social media post that he would be arrested on Tuesday as New York's attorney general considers indicting Trump in a case over money paid to silence women who alleged they had sexual encounters with the former president.

Trump said in a post on Truth Social early Saturday that "illegal leaks" from the Manhattan District Attorney's Office indicated that "the leading Republican nominee and former president of the United States of America will be arrested on Tuesday of next week."
Trump urged his supporters to protest and demonstrate.

New York law enforcement officials are making security preparations for the possible indictment of Trump.

There has been no public announcement of any timeframe for the grand jury work in the case, including any potential vote on whether or not to indict the former president.
