"I don't think anyone is involved in the union because they believe it is a job, we are a beautiful organization because we are made up of real men and women who believe in what they do": this is how the general secretary of the CGIL Maurizio Landini speaks to the audience, moved, and excited, on the final day of the XIX national congress. Landini called on stage all the "comrades and companions" of the union structure and thanked them.

The leader of the CGIL addressed a "further thanks to the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, who with his message reconfirmed the value of our Constitution and work".

In his speech Landini started from yesterday's speech by Giorgia Meloni and addressing the prime minister said: "Wealth is produced by those who work, it is necessary to put work and the person back at the center as an element to change the social and economic model that in recent years has established itself".

In another passage of the speech he stressed: "First you vote for differentiated autonomy and then you come to tell us that you are for national unity, we are for unity and we are also for unity on 18, 19, 20 and we will oppose with all possible ways a questioning of our Constitution".

In the morning, Giulio Regeni's parents intervened in connection. "We thank all the members of the CGIL who have supported us in the battle to obtain truth and justice. We ask you to continue to be close to us on the path towards truth and justice," said Claudio Regeni, connected together with his wife Paola Deffendi and civil lawyer Alessandra Ballerini. "For seven years we have been pursuing the truth and demanding a procedural truth for the kidnapping, torture and murder of Giulio. He died at work", says the family's lawyer, Alessandra Ballerini, adding that "we cannot collaborate with dictators".
