Talks to restore normal relations between Egypt and Turkey

The official spokesman for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, said yesterday that the visit of Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu to Cairo scheduled today, is the inauguration of the path of restoring normal relations between the two countries, and the launch of an in-depth dialogue on various aspects of bilateral relations and international issues, with the aim of reaching a common understanding that achieves the interests of the two brotherly countries and peoples.

Abu Zeid revealed that Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will receive his Turkish counterpart at the ministry's headquarters, followed by extensive talks and a joint press conference.

According to the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Cavusoglu will discuss Turkish-Egyptian relations during his meeting with Shoukry, in addition to exchanging views on regional and international issues.
