A retired cardiologist appeared this Wednesday before the regional council of the Order of Physicians in Nantes (Loire-Atlantique). As Ouest-France explains, the former practitioner is being prosecuted for disobedience after opposing the Covid-19 vaccination obligation.

The man, who practiced in a polyclinic in Cholet (Maine-et-Loire) before his retirement on January 1, had already appeared before the council in October 2022. "I was prosecuted following alerts on the side effects of vaccines and for misinformation, while I gave official information," he said, quoted by our colleagues.

Response mid-April

The cardiologist appealed after receiving a warning. He was then suspended by the Regional Health and Social Security Agency, effective December 23. A measure that he considers illegal because according to him, "a suspension can only be pronounced by the council of his order".

The man was therefore summoned once again before the regional council of the Order of Physicians, which is due to render its decision during the month of April. A sanction could penalize the former cardiologist, who, as a retired doctor, can "withdraw medication for me and my loved ones".
