Dubai Municipality gathers Emirati entrepreneurs in Hatta Market

The Hatta Souk event, launched by Dubai Municipality, began today, bringing together traders and small business owners, enabling them to display their agricultural, commercial, handicraft and household products that reflect the most important cultural and heritage features of the region.

Eng. Mansour Al Rais, Acting Director of the Urban Heritage and Antiquities Department at Dubai Municipality, explained to Emirates Today that the municipality held the Hatta Market event to support and assist traders and national entrepreneurs and link them with consumers, by providing a suitable climate and environment for communication between them, and to see their products and what they offer to the people of the region and its visitors.

He stated that the number of project owners participating in the event is 5 merchants, and the municipality worked to provide free exhibition platforms for them, in addition to the necessary equipment of equipment, electricity and other display requirements, as well as providing entertainment shows that attract families and shoppers to the market.

He explained that the event, which is the first of its kind in the region, aims primarily to support and encourage traders and small business owners in the Hatta region and display their products, enhance the position of the market and increase the attraction of visitors and demand for the area, which contains many natural places and entertainment events. The event will continue until March 24, from ten in the morning until eight in the evening.

He stressed that the event constitutes a supportive step to activate the Hatta market and enhance its investment and economic aspect, by supporting investors, traders and small business owners from the people of Hatta, to display their agricultural, commercial and home craft products, which reflect the richness of the Hatta heritage and cultural area.

She continued, "The market is an opportunity to enjoy an entertainment and marketing tour in an area characterized by its picturesque mountainous nature, and spend fun times, as the event will include a number of entertainment programs such as children's workshops, commercial sales platforms for food and coffee, traditional costumes, local products that the Hatakhal region is famous for, honey and dates, in addition to the availability of platforms to market and display home and craft projects that the residents of the region excel in.

The Hatta Souk event is characterized by traditional exterior design, which combines traditional architecture in Hatta with modern architecture, as it includes heritage sessions, tents, arish and lighting, which are integrated in a modern way with the heritage surroundings of the region, in line with the nature of the region to display local products and farmers' products.
