It is noted that on Wednesday, March 15, EP deputies adopted a resolution condemning Szijjártó for a visit to the Belarusian capital, which, according to European officials, "contradicts the EU policy towards Belarus."

According to Mentzer, in Minsk, the Hungarian minister pointed to the importance of diplomacy and dialogue, and also called on the parties to the conflict to negotiate.

"This is especially true because the Hungarian government wants peace, MEPs and bureaucrats in Brussels, on the contrary, want war," RIA Novosti quoted Mentzer as saying.

Earlier, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that Hungary would not allow itself to be drawn into the Ukrainian conflict.

He stressed that Hungary would like to immediately achieve an end to the conflict in Ukraine, but it "does not have the strength for this."
