Several of the relatives are part of the 23 new S members, who applied for membership in December. This weekend there is an annual meeting and then they will be involved in deciding the election of a new group leader and chairman of the municipal board in Botkyrka.

At the same time, the party board decided on Wednesday not to grant membership to 98 people and thus they cannot participate and vote at the annual meeting. The individuals wanted to become members after the previous membership meeting, but are thus denied on the grounds "that it is not possible to determine whether those who applied for membership have illegitimate purposes".

The party executive writes in the decision that they want to avoid factions. The person who made the final decision was party secretary Tobias Baudin (S).

"You can understand that you don't want factional formations, but you can't change the principle from time to time," says S-marked political scientist Marja Lemne.

Party secretary refuses to be interviewed

SVT has repeatedly sought party secretary Tobias Baudin to ask questions about the members, but he does not want to stand for an interview but refers to an interview he did with TT on Wednesday.
