Syrian President Assad landed in Moscow: today the meeting with Putin

Leaders will talk about bilateral cooperation and the possibilities of a peace agreement in Syria


Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold talks today with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, who landed in Russia yesterday. This was confirmed by the Kremlin. They will talk about "topical issues of the further development of Russian-Syrian cooperation in the political, commercial, economic and humanitarian spheres, as well as prospects for a comprehensive solution to the situation in Syria."

Assad was greeted at Moscow-Vnukovo International Airport with a welcome ceremony. The Syrian president was received by Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, Russian Ambassador to Damascus Alexander Efimov and Syrian Ambassador to Moscow Bashar al-Jaafari.
