Yoon Seok-yeol's first visit to Japan begins with a luncheon and a meeting with his fellow countrymen.

He will then hold a summit with Prime Minister Kishida of Japan.

The two leaders will discuss the implementation of a solution to the issue of forced mobilization reparations.

The summit is expected to restore the channels of ministerial-level cooperation between the two leaders in the areas of shuttle diplomacy, security and economy.

In an interview with a Japanese newspaper shortly before his visit, President Yun said, "Visiting Japan is a great step forward and achievement in itself," and emphasized that "normalization of bilateral relations is not only in the common interests of the two countries, but also a positive signal for the international community."

Regarding the solution to forced mobilization of third-party reimbursement, he said, "I thought it was a reasonable solution even before I started playing politics."

Regarding Japan's policy of possessing "counter-attack capabilities," he said, "We understand the situation in which North Korea's intermediate-range missiles pass through Japan."

A senior official in the President's Office said, "There is not enough time to summarize the positions of the two countries and refine them into refined wording," and that there is no joint declaration.

Following the summit, the two leaders will hold a joint press conference and dinner together.
