The image is impressive. Monday, around 22 p.m., a major thunderstorm hit the city of Grenoble (Isère) and a huge lightning impact hit the city center. The latter was captured by the cameras of the company Skaping. The photo was then shared by Météo Grenoble on Twitter, reports Actu Grenoble.

According to Guillaume Séchet, founder of Météo Grenoble, this lightning strike is not a superbolt. It is therefore not "a lightning bolt that descends like an arrow to the ground". The intensity of such a phenomenon accumulates 250,000 amps, against "only" 41,000 amps for the lightning observed Monday. The lightning strike did not cause any damage.

This big storm broke out in Grenoble even though the department of Isère was not placed in orange vigilance unlike some of its neighbors such as the Rhône and the Loire. It was caused by a heat record broken on Monday, where the mercury reached up to 26 ° C in the hottest of the day. The next day, the temperature dropped to 12°C.
