Wind and sunny spells are expected this Wednesday in the country.

Météo France predicts a return to calm, with overcast skies in the South-West and in particular some rain in Brittany.

Snow is expected in the Vosges and the Northern Alps.

Finally, temperatures will go up to 9 degrees in Brittany and 11 degrees in the Mediterranean.

The weather will improve a little Wednesday on the country, evolving towards a calmer situation, forecasts Météo-France.

In the morning, mild and humid ocean air will bring overcast skies from Brittany to the South West, punctuated by a few scattered drops.

This overcast sky will gradually shift over the northwest quarter of the country in the afternoon, with light rain mainly over northern Brittany and Normandy.

The Southwest will find a slightly brighter, more or less veiled sky.

A moderate southerly wind will pick up around midday on the Atlantic coast then in the English Channel.

In the East, the weather will be variable.

In the morning, the sky will be very cloudy from the Grand Est to the Alps with light and intermittent precipitation.

From the Vosges to the Northern Alps, it will snow from 500 to 700 m.

In the afternoon, the sky will remain cloudy but the weather will become dry again, except in Franche-Comté where a few drops will resist.

From Hauts-de-France to Auvergne via the Paris region and the Centre, the sky will alternate between clear spells and patches of greyness.

Again, in the afternoon the sky will be veiled then very cloudy.

Up to 11 degrees in the Mediterranean

On the South-East and Corsica, the weather will be dry, the sky temporarily cloudy in the morning, more frequently in the afternoon.

The wind will still be present but will blow less strongly than the previous days.

The mistral will reach 60 to 80 km / h in gusts, tramontana and westerly wind in Corsica are a notch below.

Temperatures will drop slightly below mid-March normals.

The minimums will range from -2 to 3 degrees over much of the country's east, from 3 to 9 from Brittany in the southwest and from 6 to 11 near the Mediterranean.

The maximum will vary between 9 and 13 degrees on the northern half and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, between 13 and 18 further south with peaks at 19 or 20 degrees on the Mediterranean coasts.
