Syrian President Bashar al-Assad arrived, on Tuesday evening, in the Russian capital, on an official visit, during which he will meet with the country's President, Vladimir Putin.

The official Syrian News Agency (SANA) reported that Al-Assad arrived in Moscow, accompanied by a ministerial delegation, on an official visit, during which he will hold talks with President Putin.

SANA added that the reception ceremony took place at Vnukova International Airport, without specifying the duration of the visit.

For its part, the Kremlin said that President Putin will receive Assad in Moscow tomorrow, indicating that topical issues related to the development of Russian-Syrian cooperation in the political, economic, trade and humanitarian fields will be discussed.
