The Federal National Bank participates in the Second Conference of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement

The Federal National Council (FNC) affirmed the UAE's keenness under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to consolidate the values of solidarity and concerted efforts towards global issues, coordinate positions on the international arena to enhance international security and stability, achieve the aspirations of peoples for sustainable development, and help affected peoples to advance and achieve their growth and prosperity.

This came in the speech of Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Council, delivered on his behalf by Adnan Hamad Al Hammadi, member of the UAE Parliamentary Division Group, during the second conference of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement, which was held on the sidelines of the 146th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in the Kingdom of Bahrain, with the participation of heads of parliaments and delegations of member states of the Network.

The meeting was attended by members of the UAE Parliamentary Division Group in the Inter-Parliamentary Union: Sarah Mohammed Falaknaz, Meera Sultan Al Suwaidi, and Marwan Obaid Al Muhairi, members of the Federal National Council.

"The UAE, which was founded on the principles of peace, tolerance, coexistence with all, respect for the sovereignty of states, and non-interference in their internal affairs, has spared no effort to stand with all countries and peoples alike regardless of their ethnic, national, religious, cultural and other affiliations," Saqr Ghobash said in his speech.

He pointed to the humanitarian attitudes of the UAE towards countries and peoples during the period of the Covid-19 pandemic, where the UAE's medical and humanitarian aid reached almost all parts of the world, without discrimination between anyone.

In his speech during the conference, he said: "Now that the world has almost completely overcome this pandemic, it needs to work, along with we, parliamentarians, in our legislative and oversight capacity, in two parallel directions:

First: Work to restore the situation to what it was before the pandemic, especially in the sectors that have been affected the most, such as the health and education sector, and to draw lessons and lessons produced by the pandemic and address the shortcomings that existed, as the pandemic can be classified in the list of "emerging crises" that can appear from time to time for any reason.

Second: We need to be proactive and sustainable together, as the world is now experiencing changes and developments that may be the most dangerous throughout the history of humanity, the first of which is climate change with all the crises that this phenomenon may produce such as food and water security, and from here comes our parliamentary role in working and coordinating with our national executive institutions to legislate the necessary laws that will keep pace with international developments and changes in all their orientations on the one hand, as well as working and coordinating with all parliamentary organizations at the regional and international levels to ensure Achieving collective international action to address all these phenomena as one international community.
