What does the mathematical constant π (pi) (≈ 3.141592653589793…) actually sound like?

Chalmers draws attention to this in connection with Pi Day, or as it is officially called by Unesco, International Mathematics Day.

On Wednesday, the university therefore invited to a popular science lecture with the title: "This is what pi sounds like".

There is explored

To demonstrate Pi's connection to music, Chalmers researcher Julie Rowlett has enlisted the help of the musicians in Da Möbius Band.

- Pi is one of the reasons why musical instruments sound the way they do.

There is mathematics of vibrating strings and π is present in the sounds of stringed instruments.

So what does Pi sound like?
