Leaked footage revealed that the popular chat application, WhatsApp, owned by Meta, wants to add a new tool to silence spam calls.

And while calls will still appear in your notifications and calls list, unknown contacts won't be able to disturb you, as people can soon turn on mute unknown callers from settings.

WABetaInfo said that one of the problems affecting WhatsApp groups is the possibility of access by anyone to the phone numbers of others in the group, and this leads to a serious problem because anyone can contact other members, even without a valid reason, regardless whether he had permission to do so.

A screenshot displayed by the site showed how WhatsApp is working on the new feature that allows users to silence incoming calls from unknown numbers, and the revoke button will be present in the application settings.

Once pressed, incoming calls from unknown numbers will be silenced, but will be shown in the call list and notification center.

It is not clear when the new feature will arrive in the application, as “WhatsApp” is constantly working on new features and tools, but some features are not launched.
