The ten Spanish care workers will be flown up to Boden this summer to cover for care and social care staff on holiday.

- It has been a tough few years when it comes to recruiting summer substitutes.

Now we are making an attempt with this project, says Marie-Helené Ståhl, director of operations for elderly care in Boden.

Going to work in a dementia home

The Spanish staff will work at Erikslund's dementia home and they must have Spanish nursing training.

- They are currently studying nursing Swedish, she says.

Will their knowledge of Swedish be enough to cope with the job in a dementia ward?

- We don't know how this will turn out, but they are educated, motivated and they know English, says Marie-Helené Ståhl.
