He said this during a meeting of the UN Security Council convened at the initiative of Russia.

Nebenzi's statement was published by TASS.

According to him, the rampant Russophobic campaign in Ukraine, unleashed by the Ukrainian authorities, directly threatens international peace and security.

“Because in such conditions no peace and good neighborly relations with Ukraine are possible in principle,” he said.

He added that Moscow wants its Ukrainian neighbors to “just observe the elementary rights and freedoms that our Western colleagues so zealously monitor at home.”

“Only for Ukraine they have different standards for some reason,” Nebenzya said.

The diplomat added that a long-term and sustainable peace in Europe cannot be built on Russophobia.

“I want you to be clearly aware of this,” the permanent representative said.

Earlier, the British representative to the UN spoke in Russian to prove that London does not promote Russophobia.
