Taiwan revealed - today, Tuesday - its first explosive drone, amid military pressure exerted by China on this island.

The new march was presented by the Army's National Institute of Science and Technology, and it is a mobile munition similar to the American Switchblade 300 that Ukrainian soldiers are currently using against Russia.

The Institute of Science and Technology indicated that this plane, which is manufactured in Taiwan and is small enough to carry in a backpack, can fly in the air for 15 minutes.

It can only be used once and self-destructs on the first hit.

"Lightweight and portable, (and looks like) a large flying grenade," explained the head of aviation systems research at the Taiwanese military.

He noted that Taiwan is also developing a new generation of "suicide marches", including larger marches to launch attacks at longer distances.

China considers the island of Taiwan an integral part of its territory, and asserts that it will one day regain it by force if necessary.

Last year, relations between Beijing and Washington reached their lowest point in August, after former US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan.

In response to Pelosi's visit, Beijing carried out massive military maneuvers around the island.

Last October, the Chinese Communist Party included in its constitution a reference to its "strong opposition" to Taiwan independence.
