Today, Tuesday, marks the 17th anniversary of the kidnapping of the Secretary-General of the Popular Front, Ahmed Saadat, and his companions, who are accused of carrying out the assassination of the Israeli Minister of Tourism, Rehavam Zeevi, as part of a major military operation of the occupation that targeted the Jericho prison of the Palestinian Authority.

And the Palestinian News Agency (Wafa) - quoting the Captive Club - reported that Saadat (70 years) from Ramallah is serving a 30-year prison sentence, and has been arrested at least 7 times, before his continuous arrest since March 14, 2006.

At that time, about 20 Israeli military vehicles invaded the compound that houses the Muqata'a headquarters and the Palestinian prison, where Saadat was being held under British-American supervision.

Over the years of his detention, Saadat (a father of 4 children) faced years of deprivation of visitation and solitary confinement. After his experience in isolation, Saadat was able to write a book entitled "Echo of Shackles", in which he deals with the policy of solitary confinement in the occupation prisons.
