Combining business with pleasure: this is exactly what this retiree living in Angers (Maine-et-Loire) does. For a year now, this man has made the decision to walk more than 20 kilometers a week. Not only does he walk around his neighborhood, but he also picks up trash on his way, reports France 3 Pays de la Loire.

Victim of a heart attack, the retiree started walking on the advice of his cardiologist. Today, he goes for a walk three times a week equipped with several garbage bags to pick up as much rubbish as possible. And he finds everything: dirty diapers, industrial packaging, receipts, empty cigarette packets...

This activity allows him to draw a sad conclusion. According to him, municipal officials focus on cleaning certain neighborhoods and "spend much less time in the cities". The retiree also deplores the lack of cleanliness of some people. If his action is welcomed by the residents, none of them has volunteered to help him for the moment.
