Dubai paramedics spend 16 days amid rubble searching for victims of earthquake in Syria and Turkey

Paramedics from the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, who participated in Operation Gentleman Knight 2, launched by the United Arab Emirates to support those affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, said that they contributed to the rescue of 24 injured people who were recovered from the rubble, including children and entire families.

The Executive Director of the Foundation, Meshal Julfar, told "Emirates Today" that "the Foundation participated in the operation of the gallant knight with trained ambulance cadres, and advanced mechanisms to facilitate rescue efforts, and save the lives of those affected," pointing to the readiness of the Foundation with all its capabilities to participate in rescue operations and humanitarian relief in which the country participates.

Dr. Saad Al Ameri, an emergency doctor at the corporation and one of the participants in the operation, said that the Dubai Ambulance team, consisting of five ambulance cadres, was able to rescue 24 injured people from under the rubble of buildings collapsed after the earthquake, including three-year-old children, entire families, and individuals of different ages.

He stressed that the experience of the paramedics contributed significantly to saving their lives, and their recovery in record time, as well as the integrated work, in the spirit of one team that characterized the teams participating in the operation. Aisha Steel, an advanced paramedic at Dubai Ambulance and one of the participants in the operation, said she and the rescue team spent 16 days in the rubble, with the aim of rescuing as many people as possible whose homes had collapsed. She continued: "The team was able to work on one heart, help raise the number of survivors from the rubble, and carry the UAE's message (the message of humanity) to the whole world, and stressed that the support of the leadership and its strategic direction was the basis and approach in the success of this operation."

Hamda Al Hammadi, an advanced paramedic and one of the participants in the operation, said that during their participation in the campaign, they proved the ability and capabilities of Dubai paramedics, and their distinguished expertise in dealing with emergency cases and rescuing dangerous cases. "It is an indescribable human feeling when we can save the life of a person who has been stuck under the rubble for a long time, especially children and the elderly," she said, stressing that "the UAE and its sons are always proactive in humanitarian work wherever it is."

Operation Gentleman Knight 2 began its work after the events of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, to support the affected people, and included the dispatch of rescue teams and relief materials.
