Around 300 people took part in a white march in Niort on Sunday in tribute to Kevin Trompat, whose body and that of his partner Leslie Hoorelbeke were found in early March, more than three months after their disappearance in Deux-Sèvres.

Some participants wore white t-shirts with the message "Kevin Rest in peace" as well as flowers, which they threw into the Sèvre Niortaise, a river that crosses Niort and the Marais Poitevin, where the 21-year-old loved to fish.

A walk organized by Kevin's father

"It's a march organized by Guy Trompat in honor of his son Kevin, Leslie and Onyx (note, the young woman's dog, whose fate remains unknown). It's a demonstration of peace before everything, justice will come in a second time", explained to an AFP correspondent Marie-Noëlle Mison, lawyer for Kevin's father.

He called for "justice to be done".

"It's insurmountable. They have destroyed lives, destroyed my life. I cannot live without my son," he told reporters.

The two young people had disappeared during the night of November 25 to 26 in Prahecq, a village in Deux-Sèvres.

Their bodies were found on March 3 and 4 in two different but close places, near Puyravault in Charente-Maritime.

They were killed with a "blunt object" according to the Poitiers prosecutor's office, but the motive of the suspects, three young men aged 22 to 23 and indicted, remains unclear.

The public prosecutor spoke of a "sentimental disappointment and / or financial debts".

Leslie's funeral on Saturday in La Rochelle

The first track could be linked to possible feelings of one of the indicted towards Leslie, of whom he was the friend and who had been in a relationship with Kevin shortly before the disappearance.

The second track could be linked to drug trafficking in which Kevin took part.

During this white march, which the family of Leslie Hoorelbeke, 22, did not join, a former boxing trainer of Kevin Trompat, Michel Acheghane, described the young man as "someone who listened, who was disciplined, who always gave 100%".

"I don't understand what happened," he added.

The funeral of Kevin Trompat will take place Thursday in the Saint-Hilaire church in Niort.

According to the

Sud-Ouest

newspaper , those of Leslie Hoorelbeke will be held on Saturday in La Rochelle.
