Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdullahian described the talks with Saudi Arabia as complex and difficult, but the important thing is that they led to a clear result, after an agreement between the two countries under Chinese auspices.

Abdollahian stressed that the Iranian-Saudi agreement to reactivate diplomatic relations is not directed against any country, and said that the agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia serves the interests of the two countries and is in the interest of the countries of the region.

On Friday, Saudi Arabia and Iran announced the resumption of diplomatic relations between them and the reopening of embassies within two months, following Chinese-sponsored talks in Beijing, according to a joint statement by the three countries.

This agreement came after Beijing hosted, from March 6-10, Saudi-Iranian talks "in response to an initiative by Chinese President Xi Jinping, and in agreement with the leaderships of the Kingdom and the Iranian Republic, and their desire to resolve differences," according to a joint tripartite statement.

Yahya Rahim Safavi, advisor to the Iranian leader, said that the agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia to resume diplomatic relations is considered an earthquake in the political arena, and the beginning of the post-US phase in the Middle East.

Safavi added that what the region will witness after the agreement will be different.

He expressed his hope that the region will move towards security and sustainable peace after this agreement.

The advisor to the Iranian leader stressed that it is important for everyone to look at the Iranian-Saudi agreement rationally, stressing that it will not be against any country in the region.

Safavi said that the phase of the collapse of the power of the United States and Israel had begun.

Pointing out that it is necessary for Iran to adopt a specific policy to deal with China and Russia, based on common threats and interests.
