The investigation against the man was started after a cheater was caught red-handed in an exam room in Borås.

The man had several unauthorized aids, including a hidden camera in his clothes, earphones and a mobile phone with wireless wi-fi.

Videos were found in the mobile phone where the man who is now being prosecuted is filmed as he mounts just such a spy camera as is usually used in cheating.

Amount of swish payments

After that, the man's house was searched where extensive electronic equipment was discovered.

On the man's account there were also many swish payments from different people, but the charge of suspected aiding and abetting false assurance only applies to two cases.

- We suspect that he dealt with this to a greater extent, but what I can provide as evidence are two cases.

They could certainly have dug more into this, but it is also a matter of investigative resources, says the prosecutor.

Prosecutor: "Threatening the system"

When SVT Nyheter previously reviewed the driver's license fraud, a salesperson offered us an approved test result for SEK 15,000.

During the years 2020-2021, the Swedish Transport Administration reported over three hundred cases of suspected cheating in the examination halls.

Many of those reported have also been convicted in court, but until now no suspected seller of the aid has been prosecuted.

The prosecutor takes the seller's role seriously.

- I think it is a threat to the system, an incorrect test means that the person should not have a driver's license, says Madelene Ekestolpe.

Denies crime

The suspect denies any crime and says in questioning that he only drove people to the theory test.

He also says he kept the equipment found at his residence for a friend.

According to the Swedish Transport Administration, there was a large decline in reports of driver's license fraud in 2022. It is unclear whether the decline has a connection with the crackdown on the man now indicted.
