Palestinian prisoners prepare for 'first of Ramadan' hunger strike
For the 26th consecutive day, prisoners in Israeli prisons continue their collective "disobedience" against the prison administration, in response to its announcement of the start of measures to restrict them.
According to the "disobedience" steps program, prisoners staged a sit-in in prison yards on Friday, after Friday prayers, wearing "shabas" uniforms.
The Commission for Prisoners and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Prisoners' Club, as reported by the Palestinian news and information agency (Wafa), confirmed that the "disobedience" steps will continue until the announcement of the hunger strike on the first of Ramadan, based on the struggle program approved by the Higher Emergency Committee of the prisoners' movement, which emanates from all factions.
She pointed out that the prisoners began their steps since the fourteenth of last February, after the prison administration announced the start of the application of the procedures of "Ben Gvir", and the approval of racist bills, most notably the draft law on the execution of prisoners.
