A couple of days ago, a white passenger car was stolen in Birsta.

That car was later noticed, thanks to a private person who recognized the driver.

The person called the non-profit association Njurunda Byavakt and told them that they had seen a person they recognized from previous crimes.

The prosecutor's office confirms that the man in his 30s is already known to the police.

The man's lawyer Johan Lavås has also confirmed that it is the same man who killed an elderly man in Ljustorp at the end of February this year.

Sundsvall's newspaper was the first to report.

Manipulated license plate

Njurunda Byavakt went there with two cars and the white car was in Kvissleby.

They also recognized the man.

The registration plate was tampered with and did not match when they searched the registration number at the Swedish Transport Agency.

- You could see that someone had tinkered with the letters.

It was quite clear when you got up close that they had taped the number plate, says Njurunda Byavakt.

As soon as they realized that the car was stolen, they called the police.
