In February, the county administrative board carried out an inspection in a stable in Västerbotten county following a report.

During the inspection, it was seen that the stable was dirty and that there was a layer of manure on the floor that was several decimetres.

The stable also completely lacked functioning ventilation.

The wooden furniture in the stable had been chewed on and eaten by the horses.

Instead, the interior had been replaced with laces.

In one of the boxes was also a dead horse that had begun to rot and emit a corpse smell.

The County Administrative Board decides according to the Animal Protection Act that the stable in its current condition poses a health and injury risk for the horses and may therefore not be used for stables of horses.
