- The dictator of Belarus himself, visited them on Christmas Day and thanked them for collecting money for Russian soldiers who are at the front in Ukraine, says Dimitri Vasserman, the embassy's spokesperson.
The organization refers to Belarus dictator Lukashenka's website where a visit to the monastery is reproduced and where the event was commented on:
"The Head of State noted that St.
Elisabeth Monastery recently collected support for the Russian military at the front”.
SVT Nyheter Västernorrland has spoken with a representative from the Swedish-Russian association in Sundsvall, who is also active in Selånger's parish, and who says that the information that the collection would have gone to the Russian army is not correct.
SVT Västernorrland has sought representatives for the monastery in Minsk.
