During Thursday, the snow moved in over Western Sweden, which affected public transport, which was forced to cancel several lines.

At 18:00, the Hisingsbron in Gothenburg got stuck in a partially raised position after a bridge failure.

It caused a complete standstill and neither cars, trams nor buses came over.

Climbed over the bridge

Many people got tired and chose to climb over the bridge.

- There were probably 50 people who climbed over, says eyewitness Lukas Grundberg, to SVT.

According to the police, the opening was about one meter but the bridge guard dared not lower the bridge without the risk of someone getting hurt.

Police sent a patrol to the scene to prevent anyone from falling from the bridge and getting hurt.

According to the Swedish Transport Administration, a technician has been called to the scene.

Stop between Borås and Gothenburg

In the rest of Western Sweden, according to Västtrafik, mainly buses in Alingsås and Skara are affected.

Bus 100 towards Borås is completely canceled and there is still no forecast for when it can start running again.

Tram lines 1 and 3 towards Redbergsplatsen also run a different route than normal, this after a person was hit by a tram.

According to Västtrafik, it is unclear when the lines can run as usual.

The Swedish Transport Administration has sent technical personnel to the site.
