The Israeli police said that 3 people were wounded in a shooting that took place Thursday evening in the center of Tel Aviv, and that the perpetrator of the operation was killed.
The police added that investigations are continuing regarding the presence of another suspect at the scene of the shooting.
The mayor of Tel Aviv said that the shooting in the city center had a national background.
The mayor added that the Israelis should stop the popular protests immediately after the shooting.
The shooting comes at a time when Israel is witnessing demonstrations against the plan of Benjamin Netanyahu's government to reduce the powers of the judiciary.
The opposition says the plan aims to undermine the independence of the judiciary and a coup against democracy.
